After much reflection, we have decided that the Havens to Havens Walk, due to take place on Sunday 18th September, will still go ahead as planned.
Whilst Havens to Havens is a flagship fundraising event for our charity, it is so much more. Havens to Havens is an occasion that brings together family and friends to walk in memory of loved ones who have died.
It feels fitting to continue this tradition when grief and bereavement are impacting many more people through the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
Participants can still start the walk any time from 9.30am from Little Havens, but there will be a minute of silence at Little Havens at 11am for those who wish to come together and remember Her Majesty, as well as their own special people before setting off on their walk.
There will be an opportunity for friends and family to sign up on the day.
Our annual memory walk is back for 2022 from Little Havens in Thundersley to new Fair Havens in Southend. There is the option to take part in either a 5.5 or 11 mile walk.
The 5.5 mile route passes through Belfairs Woods, along the Prittlebrook Greenway and on through Priory Park to Fair Havens. Here you can enjoy a well deserved rest and refreshments before walking a further 5.5 miles back to Little Havens or taking advantage of a free bus ride.
This event is suitable for all ages and abilities and is great fun for all the family with an activity sheet for younger visitors to complete along the route.
Whether you are walking to remember a loved one or just to enjoy the fresh air, every step will be ‘Making every day count.’
Online booking for this event is now closed. However, you will still be able to sign up on the day for an additional £5, with adult tickets costing £20.
