Race4Business, sponsored this year by Ascend Broking Group, Birketts, Fiserv, Fastwarm, Solopress, Rickard Luckin, and Tangent International, is a 5K charity race in Chelmsford which brings colleagues together for a social evening outside of the office.
This established event, now in its 26th year, is returning to Central and Admirals Parks in Chelmsford on Wednesday 2nd July from 5.30pm.
Race4Business has become a significant annual fixture in the business community calendar raising money for Little Havens, which provides specialist care and support to babies, children and young people living with incurable conditions across the county.
This event is suitable for all ages and abilities – the mainly flat course has no minimum speed or standard of fitness required. There will also be prizes for the winning individuals, teams and best fancy dress, adding a competitive and team-building element to the event.
After participants have finished their run, jog or walk, food and drink stalls will be available for people to enjoy well deserved refreshments.
It’s thanks to events like Race4Business the charity can continue providing its specialist care absolutely free of charge to local families when they need a place to turn after the devastating news of an incurable or complex condition.
Rachel Hawksworth, Deputy Head of Fundraising at Havens Hospices, said: “The need for our care is growing, and we must raise over £83,000 every week to ensure we can support everyone who relies on us during their most challenging times. This would not be possible without the incredible support from local businesses.
“We’re encouraging participants to make an additional donation or raise sponsorship for our specialist care, allowing us to extend our services to even more families across Essex. Let’s make this year our most successful fundraiser yet!
